Besides being an historic location because Japan signed the final articles of surrender from WWII here and the United Nations charter was first ratified here in 1945, the beautiful building hosted a memorable concert by Carole King at the beginning of her popularity. The Pointer Sisters recorded a live album here in 1974 and many great jazz and classical musicians from around the world play here regularly.
