On June 2, 1967, about a week before the historic Monterey Pop Festival approximately 15,000 people attended the KFRC Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival to benefit the Hunters Point Child Care Center at the theater on Mount Tamalpais.

Some of the participants were The Doors, Canned Heat, The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane and The Fifth Dimension.
