The I-Beam was a famous gay disco for years, in 1980 they started to have special Monday night shows that featured young up and coming bands from the U.K. such as Duran Duran, The Cure, New Order and also some U.S. faves such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction.
The Counting Crows got one of their early breaks here in ther early 90's.
