Oakland Coliseum Arena and Stadium
Presently known as The McAfee Coliseum.
In 1966, the city of Oakland constructed Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for two reasons: a place for the Oakland Raiders to play and also in an effort to lure MLB baseball to Oakland. In 1968, the Kansas City Athletics became the Oakland Athletics and began play at the new stadium.
Now called McAfee Coliseum the first ever concert to play here were The Righteous Brothers in 1966 when they were at the height of their fame. In 1969 Bill Graham brought The Rolling Stones in and Elvis Performed here in 1970. Genesis sold out the coliseum for six nights which is still a record.
Led Zeppelin performed their last ever U.S. performances here in 1977.
