On 13 July 1985, the American version of Live Aid was held here to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine.

Also, The stadium held The Monsters of Rock Festival, featuring Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica & Kingdom Come, on June 11, 1988.

Other memorable concerts here included: Peter Frampton, The J. Geils Band, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead which played the last ever show here in 1989.
