In its heyday, the stadium attracted the world's best musical artists. The Beatles played at Forest Hills Stadium in August 1964. In July 1967, Jimi Hendrix opened for The Monkees.

The Supremes played the stadium that year, as did Joan Baez and Simon and Garfunkel, Hall & Oates, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, The Who, The Lovin' Spoonful and The Four Tops.
