The Palomino
Former Location -
The Palomino has long been known as a country-flavored club, but in the 80's, many other types of music could be enjoyed here such as Elvis Costello and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
On February 19, 1987, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, and John Fogerty jammed with Taj Mahal.
In December of 1971, Linda Ronstadt had a breakthrough concert here that earned her glowing reviews and set her on her way to stardom.
June 1984 saw Neil Young and The International Harvesters play a couple of shows here and in January Jerry Lee Lewis played a gig.
Unfortunately, this venue closed in mid 1995.

I remember going to the Palimino when Cliffe Stone managed it. I had so much fun going there on the talent nights to see Freddie Brown perform his country songs with the Palimino Riders Band. Another favorite entertainer of mine there was Marie Brown. She was also a very talented singer and entertainer. To bad the club closed down after Mr. Stone passed away.
