After leaving Buddah Records in 1973, Neil Bogart started Casablanca Records with help from Warner Brothers who owned the rights to the name.

The label released hits by Kiss, Donna Summer, Cher, The Village People, and Parliament featuring George Clinton.

The label was shut down eventually with the artist roster and catalog absorbed into Mercury Records.
