Frank Zappa (Dec. 21, 1940 - Dec. 4, 1993) His band, The Mothers of Invention released their first album, "Freak Out," in 1966. He was never a big commercial success, but the most notable exception was the 1982 single "Valley Girl" recorded with his daughter Moon Unit Zappa.
